What to Expect From Your Smile Makeover

What to Expect From Your Smile Makeover

smile makeover will look different for everyone. In some cases, a few minor cosmetic improvements with minimally invasive dental treatments, like veneers or a professional teeth whitening treatment, are all it takes to dramatically improve minor cosmetic imperfections.

Suppose you have moderate to significant dental issues, like broken, fractured, or missing teeth. In that case, our team may recommend dental implants or other restorative treatments.

Our team of dentists and dental professionals offers a range of general and cosmetic dentistry services for all of your smile makeover needs. Located in The Woodlands, Texas, Scott Young, DDS, serves all of the greater Houston region, including the areas of Highland Village, West University, River Oaks, Rice Village, and Memorial.

What to expect from your smile makeover

If it’s been more than six months to a year since your last visit to our office, the first step is to schedule an appointment for a dental exam and cleaning. Even if you don’t have any symptoms and your teeth and gums are generally healthy, regular dental care is essential to prevent plaque and tartar buildup and catch problems that may not necessarily be visible to the eye.

If you have any underlying oral health problems like cavities or gingivitis, treating them may take priority over cosmetic procedures. Your smile makeover may include a combination of cosmetic and restorative dental procedures, depending on your circumstances.

Some of the typical procedures included in a smile makeover include:

The time it takes to complete your smile makeover depends on the dental procedures you choose. Sometimes a smile makeover can be as simple as whitening your teeth, which can be done in as little as a single appointment. On the other end of the spectrum, dental implants will require several appointments over a few months as your gums heal from the implant surgery.

Your smile makeover will be designed specifically for you, so you can choose to take it slow and start with a single procedure, or you may have to take care of the most significant problems first and then opt for the cosmetic improvements once your oral health is back on track.

Our dentists will provide a comprehensive dental exam and consultation to suggest the best treatments for your cosmetic and oral health needs.
